Meet the Coaches

John Zupanc has been with the UW-Oshkosh Cross Country/Track & Field program since 1981. Before that John attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and his Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology. As a Cross Country coach John has had 4 National Championship teams (1988,89,90,2002) as well as 7 WIAC Conference Championships (1989,90,92,95,2000,02,03). As an athlete in his younger days John also was an elite marathoner. In 1986 he won the Milwaukee Marathon with his current personal record time of 2 hours and 22 minutes and 29 seconds, just one minute shy of the USA Olympic Trials qualifying mark, despite being stopped by a train during the race. In 2005 John assumed the role of Head Coach for Track and Field as well and has had much success guiding the team to a 3rd place at the NCAA meet this year during the indoor season. Along with being a 2 sport coach John also serves as an instructor at the University in the Kinesiology and Health Department. |

Pat Ebel has been with the Titans Track & Field program since 2001 coaching the throws. Pat has coached 29 WIAC Conference Champions, 12 Conference Record Holders, 61 All-Americans, 14 National Champions and 9 National Record Holders as the Titans throws coach. Pat attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where he received his degree in Community Health Education in 1992. Pat was a member of the La Crosse Track & Field and Football teams as well. He is currently coaching Robyn Jarocki (former UW Oshkosh thrower / 10 Time National Champion / National Recorder Holder in the indoor and outdoor Shot Put and 20 lbs. Weight Throw) as she is training towards the 2008 Olympic Games. |

This is Ben's 2nd season as an Assistant at UWO. Ben graduated from UW-La Crosse with a degree in Recreation Management and was also a 3 Time All-American in Track and Field and All-Conference in Football. Ben works with the sprinters and jumpers as well as being the team's strength and conditioning coordinator. |

Pat is in his 6th year coaching with the Titans. Pat has over 10 years of experience coaching the High Jump and Pole Vault which included a short stint as an Assistant Coach at Oregon State among others. Pat is a former Decathlete who competed for UW-Oshkosh back in the late 90's. Pat oversees the High Jump and Pole Vault. |

Jason Fast is in his second year as an Assistant Coach. Jason attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, he then went on to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he received his Masters Degree in Sport Administration. While in La Crosse he served as an Assistant Coach in both Track and Cross Country at Onalaska High School. Jason competed in Cross Country and Track & Field for the Titans from 2000-2004 and was a member of the Cross Country team that won the National Championship in 2002. Along with being a Assistant to Coach Zupanc he is also an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology and Health, as well as the Assistant Director for this year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held in Oshkosh later this year. |

This is Josh's second year as an Assistant Coach for the Titans. Josh graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Mathematics. While at Stevens Point Josh competed for the Cross Country and Track & Field teams from 2001-2006. Along with being an Assistant Coach, Josh will also be attending graduate school in pursuit of his Masters degree. |
